Brill Publishers design project

UX/UI DESIGN

I have had the wonderful opportunity and experience to work in the Dutch company Brill Publishers (established 1683) on redesigning part of their webpage. I worked there for 6 months as an intern. During that time, I went through the entire design phase from starting the research from scratch until a final prototype.

I stared to sketch out different ideas on paper. When I had selected out the best ideas from that process. I create wireframes and show the wireframes to my mentor and to the other colleges.

Thanks to the wireframes I had set the structural basis of the website in stone.

For the prototyping part of the process, I used Adobe XD program. throughout the internship I also kept the design process in mind.

On the right side, you can see examples of the designs I created during the Brill Publishers House project. I crafted both the desktop and mobile versions. Below, you can also discover parts of the processes, such as showcased mobile design examples and desktop design samples.

For the prototyping part of the process, I used Adobe XD program. throughout the internship I also kept the design process in mind.

  • At first, I made desk research over other companies’ websites etc.
  • • After I had done the research, I planned out a User trialling session.
  • • After I had planned then I started to contact potential participant and made plans when to conduct the user trialling sessions
  • • The user trialling sessions took place via a video call format. The participants where from all over the world.
  • • User trailing session was recorded
  • • Steps in the user trialling
  • • Particiaont getting familiar with the website
  • • I gave different tasks to the particiapnts
  • • Observing particiapnts while they are going through the task
  • • Interviewing the users after the tasks
  • • After the user trialling, I analysed the user’s behaviour via the video format.
